Ambiguous Aptera?

I was looking at the new California based Aptera 2e (Due out this year) Full-Electric vehicle the other day. I am familiar with the product (and think it's great). I mean, who wouldn't love a car that costs 50 cents per 100 miles to operate, right?

But then I remembered something...

Listen Aptera, it doesn't matter to me at all, you've got a great product... but I mean, well,... DOESN'T ANYBODY ELSE SEE IT?!

Synergy, a software based KVM

Just a quick vid to demonstrate the setup and use of software based KVM, Synergy. Synergy allows you to share a keyboard and mouse (say from your desktop) to other PCs (like a laptop).

Synergy is an FOSS app available for Windows, Mac OSX, and *nix OS @ www.sourceforge.net or through your friendly neighborhood linux repository.



There are many blog outlets featuring a post on Synergry, but Tombuntu.com, IMO, has the most complete review and setup instructions.

Of special note:

- When setting up the client machine (from the server) you must use the name of the machine, not the IP.

- when setting up the server (from the client) use the server's IP.

- Also, this app functions over TCP/IP which is not secure (there are ways to secure it (ssh) that I have yet to read into or implement.

Finally(!) I had some time to vanquish of one of the most disturbing aspects of all technology: Cable Clutter.

After reading a couple of Instructables on DIY cable management, I was inspired and got to work immediately. Okay, almost immediately?

"Man goes in the cage. Cage goes in the water. Shark's in the water..." Wait, what? I mean... Put the big pile of shit into the basket.



Binder Clips (Large) with screw and washer... you see where this is going?


Cage is hung from hooks. Cables are held by binder Clips (Large) which are screwed to underside of desk.
